This morning was a perfect morning for a walk in the woods with the dog – sunny with a few clouds and just a bit of a cool wind. So I grabbed some girlfriends and off we went to the trails at Pacific Spirit Park. Three girls, 4 dogs, good times. We weren’t the only ones with the idea, we saw at least 20 other dogs along the way, maybe more. With 78 Kms of trails (most of which are leash optional), poop bag stations at the trail heads and lots of garbage cans for disposing of the waste the park is incredibly dog friendly.
Check out the Pacific Spirit Trail map for a wide variety of trails and hikes – just be sure to note which routes are dog friendly. We did the West Canyon, Admiralty and Pioneer trails this time for a nice loop that took us under an hour. But if we had wanted to we could have easily continued on for hours. Luckily we just missed the rain as well, and will all of the dogs to run and play with along the way I now have a happily tired dog who is content to be inside for a few hours. A tired dog really is a happy dog (and a happy owner too!)
