Colliery Dam Park is popular with dogs and their humans. The upper dam trail is designated as off-leash.
The off-leash trail is quite short at 0.8 km. Despite the short length it is a scenic walk. If your dog likes to swim there are also several areas where it is safe for them to do so.
Parking at Colliery Dam Off-Leash Park
The closest parking to the off-leash area is a small lot off Nanaimo Lakes Road.
We really enjoyed this park. It gave us a chance to stretch our legs on the 0.8km trail around the lake, It also gave Avy lots of opportunities to swim (her favourite activity!)
The lower area of the park has a lot more trails if you're looking for a longer hike, but you will have to leash-up your dog.
