Are Dogs Allowed At Kitsilano (Kits) Beach in Vancouver?
Dogs are allowed on-leash at all Vancouver beaches, but for an off-leash beach play Hadden Park, located near Kits Point, is an official off-leash dog beach.
Hadden park is often called "Kits Dog Beach" by locals in the area. It is located at Kits Point behind the Maritime Museum. The park has both a grassy area where dogs can play and chase and a large, sandy beach. Neither the grassy area or beach are fenced, but they are located away from other park areas and fairly protected.
The beach area has many logs where dog owners can sit and watch their dogs play, and the sand makes it a great spot for dogs to run and chase. It is located in a small cove, away from other sections of Kits beach so there is little concern that dogs will run out of the off-leash area and disturb other beach goers.
The beach has beautiful views of the North Shore mountains and downtown Vancouver. It is also a great spot to watch the sunset. The beauty of the area makes it a popular location and it is almost always busy with several dogs enjoying the water.
