Are Dogs Allowed at Jade Bay in Cultus Lake?
Yes, there is an off-leash dog beach located next to the boat launch at Jade Bay and dogs are welcome to go for a swim. Some of the signage has gone missing but BC Parks clearly defines the area under the Activities section of their website and we have a picture from the Spring of 2020 which clearly shows the north boundary (near the playground at Entrance Bay Day-Use area).
Jade Bay is located across from Entrance Bay Campground in Cultus Lake Provincial Park. The off-leash beach runs between the boat launch at Jade Bay and the Entrance Bay day use area.
The beach area is rocky, but there is plenty of waterfront so several dogs can enjoy the beach at the same time. The water gets deep fairly quickly so if your dog is not a strong swimmer you may want to consider a life-jacket.
The Entrance Bay day use area is a leash-required zone where there are picnic tables and a a grassy area if you would like to combine a picnic with your trip to the dog beach. The day use also has a children’s playground where the entire family can enjoy the park.
