The Nanaimo River Regional Trail is a 2km trail with access to the Nanaimo River. It is the perfect spot to take your dog for a walk. You can both also cool off with a dip in the river!
There is parking for several cars at the trail head. You will also find a port-a-potty and garbage can for your convenience.
Dogs in Regional District of Nanaimo Parks
According to the Regional District of Nanaimo website dogs are allowed in Regional District parks as long as they are kept under control.
The RDN website further indicates that dogs must be on-leash at 3 of their parks; Moorecroft, Horne Lake and Descanso. Dogs must also be on-leash anywhere there is signage indicating that leashing is required.
Note: dogs are not allowed at all at the Little Qualicum River Estuary Conservation Area
Per this information, dogs are allowed to be off-leash at the Nanaimo River Regional Park.
