Are Dogs Allowed in Queen's Park in New Westminster?
Yes! Dogs are allowed on-leash in most area's of Queen's Park. There is also an off-leash dog park where you can take your dog for a play.
Queen's Park is New Westminster's most iconic park. It is huge and beautiful with tons of amenities the whole family can enjoy.
Where is the Dog Park in Queen's Park Located?
When we visited Queen's Park with Avy we did find the dog-park was a bit difficult to find. It is located just below the ball diamond and just down the path from the Bernie Legge Theatre. To get the park follow the path next to the theater and the park will be on your right.
How Big is Queen's Park Dog Park?
The dog park is fairly large with both a small dog and large dog area. Both of the spaces have a double-gated entry for your dogs safety.
In the main section of the park (where both large and small dogs are welcome) you will find plenty of space to play. The park has several trees to provide shade or an obstacle to run around.
Amenities at Queen's Park Dog-Park
At the dog park you will find a garbage can, water fountain (for the dogs) and sometimes poop bags. The poop bag container depends on users of the park to donate plastic bags so it is not always full.
Where to park?
The best place to park when you are heading to the off-leash is in the arena parking lot. From there it is a short walk to the trail that will take you to the dog-park. Queen's Park is very popular, but when we visited on a Saturday we did not have a problem finding parking.
Are Dogs Allowed in Other Areas of the Park?
Dogs are allowed all over Queen's Park but must be kept on-leash when not in the dog-park. Dogs are not allowed in the Children's playgrounds or on sports fields.
