We found this region had a nice balance of park types and features but we thought there would be more officially designated off-leash swimming areas given the amount of lake frontage in the area. That said, we really enjoyed the dog beaches on Okanagan Lake, the weather was pristine and we all had a good dip in the lake to cool off. Be sure to visit Cedar Creek Park on the east side of the lake!

The region also has a lot of fully-fenced enclosures, 12 out of 16 parks, and some of them are very large, providing enough space for dogs’ humans to get some exercise too. Ellison Park on the backside of the Kelowna International Airport is so enormous you may forget you’re in an enclosed space!
