Are Dogs Allowed in Derby Reach Park?
Yes, Derby Reach Regional Park features swimming in the Fraser River and a very large fully-fenced enclosure with a designated small-dog area. As well, when you are within the main enclosure you can wander trails or play in one of the large fields.
This large and picturesque park is an excellent “destination dog park” worthy of exploration. In addition to the regular park features, the park boasts a riverfront camping area with 38 un-serviced campsites. There are also covered and uncovered picnic tables, bathrooms and designated horse trails.
The campsites are known as the Edgewater Bar Campsite and are located along the river. While the sites are un-serviced, the have lovely river views and can be reserved on-line.
Throughout the park there are 12.9 kms of hiking trails and 6km of biking trails. While dogs are welcome on these trails, many of them require that your dog be on-leash. It is important to be mindful and pay attention to the signs posted at the hiking trails.
