Pipers Lagoon is a unique hiking area in Nanaimo, BC. The hike starts with a flat walk along a dyke between the ocean and the lagoon. The terrain quickly turns into a scramble as you have to go over some rock formations to continue the trail. Because of the need to scramble this trail is not appropriate for those with mobility challenges.
At low tide you can walk around the rocks on the beach, but this is impossible at high tide.
Dogs at Pipers Lagoon
Dogs are welcome at Pipers Lagoon but must be kept on-leash at all times. They are also not allowed on the beach itself from May 1 – September 30 each year.
