West Side dog park is a very unique park; it makes use of Ministry of Transportation Land and is literally located in the center of a highway roundabout for the Queensborough Bridge.
While not your usual dog park, it definitely works. It has a fully-fenced and gated enclosure with plenty of space on a hillside, which is a mix of gravel and grass. There is fresh water, garbage cans and park benches to add to the atmosphere.
How do you get to West Side Dog Park?
The best way to visit the park is to go to 7th Avenue and 22nd Street (approximately 2207 7th Ave) and try to snag one of the 4 or 5 street parking spaces. From there you can walk across a pedestrian bridge to get to the middle of the roundabout.
Don’t make the mistake that we did! We put the location in your GPS or you will likely find yourself driving down the highway or crossing the Queensborough Bridge while looking over at the park, wondering how to access it.
