Lynnmouth dog park is a fully-fenced, double-gated entry dog park in North Vancouver, BC. The park is located behind Mountain Equipment Co-op and boasts dog waste bins, poop bags and picnic tables.
Inside the park is well designed with well placed logs, benches and picnic tables. This allows the humans to have a seat while their dogs are enjoying the park. The ground is covered with a fairly coarse wood mulch which may be tough on some dogs paws. You may want to do a quick “paw check” when you leave.
When we visited the park it was very busy with lots of humans and dogs around. The dogs all seemed to be playful and well-behaved. But if you are looking for a quiet spot to do some training with your dog, this would not be the location for you.
Just outside of the dog park is the Lynnmouth Trail which has been recently re-done. Signage on the trail seems to indicate that the trail used to be off-leash. There is newer signage that has been posted makes it clear that the trail is now an “on-leash” area only.
Lynnmouth Trail starts at the waterfront at Harbourview Park (off-leash dog park) and runs north through Bridgeman Park, past Seylynn Park and ends at Keith Creek, next to Highway 1. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can go under Highway 1 and continue north on the Inter River Park off-leash trail system.
Parking at Lynnmouth Park
Parking for the park is on the street and there are limited spots available. You may have to search the side streets along Lynnmouth trail before you are able to find a spot to park. If you do find a spot farther away, it is an easy walk along the trail to access to enclosed dog park.
Lynnmouth Creek Access
Dogs are not allowed in the water or along the creek bed, at any time (the park map shows this area in red).
Lynn Creek is a sensitive salmon spawning area and the city does not allow dogs in the creek or on the creek bed. There is signage about a half kilometer up river. However, the access points to the creek near the dog park should be signed to remind dog owners that “dogs are not allowed beyond this point.
