Princess Park off-leash dog park in North Vancouver has a mix of open green space and forested trails. The main open field sits on the north side of Hastings Creek and can be reached from the Princess Avenue parking area by walking past the playground and crossing the bridge on the left.
This park is a good choice for dogs who enjoy trail walks more than a typical fenced dog run. The off-leash trails connect with the Lynn Valley LINK trail network and include beginner-friendly dirt and gravel paths with some rocks, roots and mild elevation. Because this is not a fully fenced dog enclosure, dogs should have reliable recall and stay under control at all times.
One of the best things about Princess Park is that it offers more variety than a standard off-leash field. Dogs can enjoy a mix of open green space, shaded forest trails and a peaceful creekside setting, while owners get the convenience of nearby washrooms, parking and picnic facilities. The trails are especially nice for dogs who prefer sniffing and exploring over simply running around a field.
Near the main entrance you’ll find washrooms, drinking water, tennis courts, a playground, picnic tables and a covered picnic area. Dogs should be kept out of playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis courts and any other signed no-dog areas, and leashed wherever signs indicate leash-required routes.
As always, please pick up after your dog, keep your dog within sight and be respectful of other park users, wildlife and the creek environment.
Parking:
Parking is available from the main Princess Avenue entrance, just north of East Osborne Road. From the parking area, walk past the playground and cross the bridge on the left to reach the open off-leash field on the north side of Hastings Creek. Princess Park can also be accessed through several neighbourhood trailheads, but the Princess Avenue entrance is the easiest starting point for first-time visitors.
