The off-leash dog park at Castle Park is a large, unfenced grass field. The off-leash area is well marked with multiple signs so it is impossible to miss.
As you walk down the hill from the children’s play area the park is quite grassy. From there you can follow the path up the other side where the brush is a little more rough, but still easy to walk through.
The dog park is large enough that you can do laps around the perimeter to get some exercise for yourself while your dog runs and plays.
Just above the off-leash area is a children’s playground, waterpark and public bathrooms. There is also a small parking lot.
At the top of the off-leash area take a moment to stop and look out at the view of the Fraser River or the beautiful mountains in the distance. You can even relax on one of the benches placed around the area. Unfortunately the vegetation around the benches does block the majority of the view when you are sitting down.
There is a pedestrian overpass at the side of the dog park that crosses over the Mary Hill Bypass. Dogs must be on leash on the overpass.
