Can dogs swim in the Fraser River?
Yes! The Fraser River Dog Park has a dog beach where dogs can take a dip in the river.
Not all sections of the Fraser River are dog-friendly. Be sure to go to an official off-leash area before you allow your dog to swim. As some parts of the river are environmentally sensitive, using official off-leash sections will ensure you do not disrupt them.
Fraser River Off-Leash Dog Park
The off-leash dog park features a grassy area where dogs can play and a small section of sandy beach. The beach area is quite popular on sunny days as a spot for dogs to cool off.
There is a boardwalk that runs along the dog beach where you can walk with your dog. It goes through both the on-leash and off-leash sections so pay attention to the signage.
The park features poop bags and garbage cans. You should still bring your own bags in case they are out, but an option if you forget. Please help keep the area clean by picking up after your dog.
Is there Parking at Fraser River Dog Park?
Yes. There are two small parking areas where parking is free. There is also street parking available if the parking lots are full.
