These Terms and Conditions are between you and Cynopolis Dog Network Corporation, operating as The Dog Network.
The Dog Network is operated by Cynopolis Dog Network Corporation, a Canadian corporation based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In these Terms, “The Dog Network,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Cynopolis Dog Network Corporation and the website at thedognetwork.ca.
By accessing or using The Dog Network, creating an account, submitting content, posting a comment or review, submitting a listing, making a voluntary contribution, purchasing a paid feature, or using any website feature, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website.
1. About The Dog Network
The Dog Network is a Canadian dog-friendly activity website and directory. The website may include parks, trails, beaches, off-leash areas, on-leash areas, dog-friendly businesses, events, blog posts, reviews, comments, affiliate links, advertising, maps, user submissions, and other dog-related information.
The Dog Network is not an official government website, municipal website, park authority, veterinary provider, legal advisor, emergency service, or public safety authority.
2. Informational nature of the website
The Dog Network provides information to help people discover dog-friendly places, activities, services, and resources.
We work to make the information useful and accurate, but information can change. Park rules, dog policies, leash requirements, business hours, trail access, parking, fees, closures, hazards, event details, and pet policies may change without notice.
You are responsible for checking current official sources, posted signs, park rules, business policies, event rules, and local bylaws before visiting a location or relying on information from the website.
3. Dog safety and responsible use
You are responsible for your own safety, your dog’s safety, and your dog’s behaviour.
You agree to follow all applicable laws, bylaws, park rules, trail rules, business policies, event rules, leash requirements, waste-disposal rules, and posted signs.
You are also responsible for deciding whether a place, trail, business, event, or activity is suitable for you and your dog.
The Dog Network is not responsible for injuries, illness, loss, damage, fines, disputes, dog incidents, wildlife encounters, trail conditions, weather, closures, inaccurate third-party information, or other issues that may occur before, during, or after visiting a location or using information from the website.
4. Accounts and user responsibilities
Some website features may require or allow user registration, login, or account access.
If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account.
You must not use another person’s account without permission or attempt to access any part of the website without authorization.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts if we believe an account is being misused, used for spam, used to violate these Terms, used to submit misleading information, or used in a way that may harm The Dog Network, other users, businesses, or the public.
5. Comments, reviews, ratings, photos, and user submissions
The Dog Network may allow users to submit comments, reviews, ratings, photos, park information, trail information, business information, event information, correction reports, business-owner responses, and other content.
You are responsible for anything you submit.
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you have the right to submit it;
- it does not violate another person’s rights;
- it is not unlawful, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, misleading, spammy, or inappropriate;
- it does not contain malware, deceptive links, or harmful code;
- it does not impersonate another person or business;
- it does not falsely suggest endorsement, approval, or affiliation;
- it does not include private personal information about someone else without permission.
We may review, edit, reject, remove, moderate, or refuse user-submitted content at our discretion.
User-submitted content reflects the views of the person who submitted it. It does not necessarily reflect the views of The Dog Network.
6. Public nature of submitted content
Some submitted content may be published publicly on the website.
This may include your display name, review text, rating, photos, submitted listing details, correction notes, business-owner responses, event details, and similar content.
Please do not submit anything you do not want to appear publicly.
We may remove content from public display, but we cannot guarantee that content has not already been copied, indexed, archived, cached, saved, screenshotted, or shared by others.
7. User-submitted content licence
You keep ownership of content you submit, but by submitting content to The Dog Network, you give The Dog Network permission to use it.
This permission allows us to display, edit, format, reproduce, publish, distribute, promote, excerpt, adapt, and otherwise use your submitted content in connection with The Dog Network.
This includes use on the website, in directory listings, in articles, in social media posts, in newsletters, in promotional materials, in advertising materials, and in related website or business features.
This permission is non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable. It continues even if you later delete your account or ask for content to be removed, unless we agree otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.
We may edit submitted content for formatting, length, clarity, spelling, grammar, style, moderation, safety, legal, technical, or editorial reasons.
8. Listing submissions and business information
The Dog Network may allow users, business owners, representatives, editors, or members of the public to submit or suggest parks, trails, businesses, events, corrections, photos, and related information.
Submitting a listing or correction does not guarantee that it will be published.
We may approve, reject, edit, merge, categorize, remove, or update listings at our discretion.
Business information may include business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, email addresses, social media links, hours, services, pet policies, photos, logos, and other public-facing business details.
If you submit information about a business, park, trail, event, or location, you confirm that you have the right to provide it and that you understand it may be published.
9. Claimed listings, business-owner features, and future paid features
The Dog Network may offer or later add claimed listings, business-owner tools, review responses, featured placements, paid listings, advertising, event submissions, promotional placements, and other paid or unpaid directory features.
We may require verification before granting access to a claimed listing or business-owner feature.
Claiming a listing does not give a business ownership of the website page, URL, category placement, reviews, ratings, editorial content, historical information, or The Dog Network’s directory structure.
We may approve, reject, suspend, modify, or remove claimed listings, paid placements, business-owner access, or advertising features at our discretion.
Additional terms, pricing, renewal rules, cancellation rules, ad rules, refund rules, or service-specific conditions may apply to paid features.
10. Events and event submissions
The Dog Network may publish or allow submissions for dog-friendly events, activities, classes, fundraisers, markets, meetups, or similar listings.
Event details can change quickly. You are responsible for confirming dates, times, locations, fees, dog policies, requirements, and cancellation information with the event organizer or official source before attending.
Submitting an event does not guarantee publication.
We may edit, reject, remove, or update event information at our discretion.
11. Advertising, sponsored content, and affiliate links
The Dog Network may display ads, sponsored content, affiliate links, paid placements, featured listings, promotional content, or other monetized content.
Affiliate links may allow The Dog Network to earn a commission if you click a link or make a purchase, at no additional cost to you.
The Dog Network participates in Amazon Associates and may participate in other affiliate programs.
Advertising, affiliate links, sponsored content, or paid placements do not necessarily mean that The Dog Network endorses a product, service, business, event, advertiser, or third-party website.
We may label ads, sponsored content, affiliate links, or paid placements where appropriate.
You are responsible for reviewing third-party terms, prices, product details, availability, policies, warranties, safety information, and privacy practices before making a purchase or using a third-party service.
12. Voluntary contributions
The Dog Network may offer a “Buy us a coffee” feature or similar voluntary contribution feature.
Voluntary contributions help support the operation of The Dog Network. They are not eligible for charitable tax receipts.
Voluntary contributions are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where The Dog Network chooses to issue a refund for reasons such as duplicate payments, processing errors, or other exceptional circumstances.
We may change, pause, remove, or replace voluntary contribution features at any time.
13. Payments, invoices, billing, and refunds
The Dog Network may accept payments for voluntary contributions, advertising, paid listings, featured placements, claimed-listing features, event promotions, or other website services.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe, through website tools such as GetPaid, or by other accepted payment methods such as INTERAC e-Transfer in some cases.
You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information.
We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers on our website. Payment card details are handled by third-party payment providers.
Paid features, advertising, listings, or other services may have separate pricing, renewal, cancellation, approval, and refund terms.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, payment does not guarantee permanent placement, specific ranking, search visibility, traffic, clicks, leads, sales, review outcomes, or business results.
We may refuse, cancel, refund, suspend, or remove a paid feature if we believe it violates these Terms, creates legal or reputational risk, is misleading, is inappropriate for The Dog Network, or cannot be provided as expected.
14. Intellectual property
The Dog Network website, branding, design, layout, text, articles, directory structure, categories, photographs, graphics, logos, templates, and other materials are owned by The Dog Network or used with permission, unless otherwise stated.
You may use the website for personal, non-commercial browsing and normal website interaction.
You may not copy, scrape, reproduce, republish, sell, license, bulk download, extract, frame, mirror, or commercially exploit website content without written permission, except where allowed by law.
You may share links to public pages on The Dog Network in a normal and reasonable way.
15. Prohibited uses
You agree not to use The Dog Network to:
- violate any law, bylaw, regulation, or third-party right;
- submit false, misleading, defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, harassing, spammy, or unlawful content;
- impersonate a person, business, organization, or representative;
- submit content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;

16. Moderation, removal, and account suspension
We may moderate, edit, reject, remove, or refuse content at our discretion.
We may also suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts, listing access, claimed-listing access, paid features, submissions, comments, reviews, or other website access if we believe these Terms have been violated or if continued access creates risk for The Dog Network, users, businesses, dogs, advertisers, partners, or the public.
We are not required to publish, keep, explain, or restore any particular submission, review, comment, listing, photo, ad, account, or paid feature.
17. Third-party websites and services
The Dog Network may link to third-party websites, businesses, products, services, apps, maps, payment processors, social media platforms, affiliate merchants, advertisers, government websites, park authorities, event organizers, and other external resources.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, accuracy, pricing, availability, policies, privacy practices, safety practices, or business practices.
Your use of third-party websites and services is at your own risk and may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
18. Privacy
Your use of The Dog Network is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information.
If you use website features such as accounts, comments, reviews, listings, forms, payments, newsletters, advertising, affiliate links, or third-party services, information may be collected or processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
19. No warranties
The Dog Network is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, current, complete, available, or suitable for your needs.
