- Top Bridge Regional Trail (on-leash trail), Parksville, BC
The Top Bridge Regional Trail connects Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park with the Top Bridge Crossing - a beautiful suspension bridge that crosses the Englishman River.
While we were visiting the Nanaimo Area we searched for a dog-friendly hike that we could do with Avy. Top Bridge came up on a blog as being a popular off-leash trail. When we arrived we were disappointed to find that the trail is actually not off-leash. Even though we had to keep Avy on her leash for the walk it was still worth going. The suspension bridge was beautiful and the trail rustic and just a little bit challenging. If your dog enjoys on-leash walks as much as off-leash then I definitely recommend a visit to this trail.
