Elk Falls Provincial Park is a popular destination in Campbell River, BC. The park has a provincial campground and many hiking trails. You can hike to a waterfall which is very popular. The trails in the park are designated as on-leash only. But it is a beautiful park and worth a visit with your dog.
We walked down to the falls but Avy and I stayed back while Matt went down to the suspension bridge. The bridge shows the falls from their best advantage. Avy isn't a big fan of bridges on a good day, and a suspension bridge is definitely out of the question! There are also several sets of steep stairs which can be crowded as the falls attract a lot of visitors.
The parking lot has ample free parking and features an information center, outhouses and garbage bins.
