Park Governance: City, Municipal, Township, etc.

This park doesn't have a proper name but the City of Port Moody has designated the wooded area at the south end of Hugh Street as an off-leash dog park.  At the corner of Hugh Street and Jane Street there is a short gravel road leading up to a small parking lot.  The road looks like driveway and there is no signage but it is a neat little spot.

It has a small area next to a creek which is just big enough to toss a ball or a stick and the creek forms a nice little pool for your dog to swim in - just be aware that the currents can be very strong at times, like after a heavy rain, so you may want to go somewhere else when the creek is raging.

We didn't have time to explore the trails when we stopped by and we have been unable to find any information about them online, but there are 2 or 3 trailheads in this area which look like they might be fun to explore.  One of these days soon we'll check them out and update this post.
