I’ll admit I can be emotional, especially when it comes to happy dog stories and stories about rescue dogs finding their forever homes, but this one really made me smile and even tear up a little bit.
An interesting note in the article is that some agencies that train therapy dogs have been so overwhelmed with requests that they are no longer accepting applications and it can take up to 5 years to receive a therapy dog. With the benefits of therapy dogs becoming more and more apparent it’s clear that a spotlight needs to be put on the training of therapy dogs going forward.
