Summary: It’s all downhill from here …. it’s an easy 2 km hike from the parking lot down to the water but you will fell your legs burning a little on the way back. There’s a nice little bay at the end of the trail for your dog to play and swim and the creek flowing into it provides some fresh drinking water.

Summary: This park is off-leash from October to April only. The off-leash area is the soccer field and ball diamond, across from the tennis courts. It features an open grassy field and a small water access for your dog to swim in the lake. The parking lot is located at the north end of Black Franks Drive.

Summary: Invermere Beach is one of Nanaimo’s designated off-leash dog parks. It features a small, rocky beach which is accessed by a short trail from the end of Invermere Road.  There’s only room for about 6 cars to park at the trailhead so the City of Nanaimo encourages people to park at nearby Groveland Park.
